What Makes PEEK Injection Molding Different — and When Does It Pay Off?
PEEK (polyether ether ketone) molds at 380–410 °C, crystallizes slowly, and costs roughly 15–30× the resin price of a general-purpose engineering grade. The only reasons to pay that are that the part will sit in continuous service above 150 °C, carry aggressive fluids, or be sterilized repeatedly — and nothing else in the resin catalog survives those conditions.
