Precision injection mold clamping operation in the ACAT Mold workshop, Shenzhen

ACAT Mold -- The Precision of a Cat.

Custom plastic injection molds and molding programs from our own factory in Shenzhen, China.
Built for teams that own their design.

±0.01 mm Dimensional tolerance -- documented in every CMM report, not claimed in a brochure.
1M+ shots Mold life rating on production tools -- steel grade and mold life in every quotation line item.
24 h DFM DFM feedback turnaround from a named engineer -- not an auto-reply, not a sales script.

Why a Cat.

A cat moves with full attention to geometry. It reads the surface before it steps, calculates the gap before it jumps, and lands exactly where it intended. There is no wasted motion, no second attempt. That is the model we apply to every mold we build.

Mold making is a discipline of tolerances, not approximations. A draft angle that is half a degree off produces a part that tears on ejection. A gate position that is convenient for the mold maker but wrong for the part produces weld lines in the wrong place. A cooling circuit that is laid out without regard to cycle time produces a mold that runs, but never runs well. We work these problems out on paper and in simulation before a single block of steel is touched.

A mold is not just a piece of steel -- it is the beginning of every product our customer will ever sell. That sentence shapes how we write quotations, how we structure our DFM reports, and how we answer questions at 10 pm on a Thursday across a nine-hour time zone difference.

Patience is also part of the picture. A cat does not rush the landing. We do not rush the T1 trial. If a trial shot reveals a problem, we document it, explain it, and fix it before the report goes out. We have never shipped a mold that failed its dimensional sign-off.

Cats always land on their feet. And we always stand behind every mold we ship.

What We Commit to, in Writing.

01 / Engineer-Led

Your drawing goes to the engineer, not the salesperson.

Your drawing goes straight to the engineer who cuts the steel, not to a salesperson with a script. Every DFM and mold-flow report is signed by a named engineer on your project. Technical questions answered within 24 hours, across time zones.

02 / Report-Verified

Nothing ships until you approve on paper.

A full CMM dimensional report in English (GD&T, measured value against drawing tolerance, item by item), the raw CMM data file so your quality engineer can rebuild the report himself, plus a timestamped continuous trial video carrying your mold number. You sign off before we ship.

03 / Life-of-Tool Accountability

We don't sell you a block of steel and walk away.

Every quotation is broken down to steel grade, mold life, cavitation, cycle time and revision rules, with no hidden cost. Spare parts ship with the tool, lifetime mold support, and reserved capacity for your production runs.

ACAT Mold is engineer-led, report-verified, and accountable for the full life of your tool.

One Group, Two Technologies

Our sister brand ACAT Tech covers aluminum and zinc die casting. If your project requires both plastic-molded housings and die-cast brackets or heat sinks, both can be delivered by the same engineering team under a single project schedule.

Shared DFM review covers both plastic and die-cast components

Who We Work With and How.

ACAT Mold is a factory-direct custom manufacturing partner for European and North American product teams -- not a trading company, not a catalog supplier, and not a retail channel. We work with product design owners and their authorized buyers.

Our model is OEM build-to-print plus joint development: where your 3D data is incomplete, we handle reverse engineering, part design and DFM before a single block of steel is cut. We do not offer white-label stock parts, we never re-cut a customer's mold for a second buyer, and we do not sell into our customers' markets.

  • NDA signed before any file exchange -- standard form available on request, or we sign yours.
  • Mold ownership and exclusivity are contractual and transferable to you. The tool is yours from the moment the dimensional report is approved.
  • Tooling payment: 50% deposit to start, balance due on your approved dimensional report before shipment. No report approval, no balance request.
  • Production volumes on open-account terms after the first order is established.
  • Spare-part list supplied in DME / HASCO standard references so you can source replacements locally if needed.
  • Mold preservation and packing documented with photographs and a packing checklist before the container is sealed.
  • For shops and integrators using us as overflow capacity: a written commitment -- signed -- that we will never contact your end customer directly or indirectly.
Three kinds of projects we turn down: We turn down three kinds of projects: lowest-price bids with no technical basis for comparison, orders with no 3D data and no willingness to provide samples or drawings, and requests to sell your geometry to a second buyer. If a project fits one of those three descriptions, we will tell you clearly and not waste your time.

Questions We Hear from Engineers and Buyers.

Are you a factory or a trading company?

We are a factory. Our molds are designed, cut, trialed, and measured in our own facility in Xixiang, Bao'an District, Shenzhen. We do not broker work to sub-suppliers for standard mold programs.

If you want to verify this before placing an order, we support live video factory tours via video call -- scheduled at a time that works for your time zone. We also welcome on-site visits. Contact us at the inquiry page to arrange either.

What information do you need to provide a quotation?

A STEP file plus a 2D drawing with tolerances, material specification, annual production volume estimate, and surface finish requirement covers most cases. The more complete the data, the more accurate the quotation.

If you do not have a 3D file yet, we can work from a physical sample, a sketch with dimensions, or a reference part. We will tell you at the DFM stage what additional data we need before cutting steel.

What is a typical mold lead time?

Lead time depends on part complexity, number of cavities, and steel grade. A typical single-cavity tool in P20 or 718H runs approximately [PLACEHOLDER] weeks from design approval to T1 trial report. A multi-cavity hot-runner tool in S136 or NAK80 typically runs [PLACEHOLDER] weeks.

These figures are quoted in writing per project and are tracked against weekly progress reports. If a schedule changes, you are notified the same day with a revised plan.

Do you sign an NDA? How is our geometry protected? Will you work with our competitors?

We sign an NDA before any file exchange on every project, without exception. We use your standard NDA if you have one, or provide our own. The NDA covers geometry, drawings, specifications, and project details.

Your mold is built exclusively for you. We do not re-cut your tool for a second buyer, we do not share your geometry with other customers, and we do not sell into your end market. This is a contractual commitment, not a policy statement.

We do work with companies that may compete in the same end market, provided there is no conflict with an existing exclusivity agreement. If you require category exclusivity, that is a negotiable term and will be stated in writing in the contract.

You spell it "mold" -- is that the same as "mould"?

Yes. "Mold" is American English; "mould" is British English. They refer to the same tool and the same manufacturing process. We use American spelling throughout our documentation and correspondence because the majority of our North American customers use it, and we standardize to avoid confusion in technical documents.

We hold both acatmold.com and acatmould.com -- both domains reach the same website. Use whichever spelling your team prefers; it makes no difference to the mold we build for you.
