What Is a Bubbler — and When Does a Deep Core Need More Than a Water Line?
A bubbler is an internal cooling device for deep cores: a small tube set inside the core steel delivers coolant to the core tip, where it spills over and returns up the annulus between tube and core wall — and a deep core needs one whenever the plastic’s heat can no longer a plate water line faster than the cycle allows it to accumulate. The symptom of the missing bubbler is easy to recognize in hindsight: long core tips that run hot, parts that stick or distort at the boss, and a cycle time that plate cooling simply cannot pull down.
