What Should Resin Lot Traceability Records Include?
Resin lot traceability records should connect three things without a gap: the supplier’s lot certificate for the material that arrived, the drying and handling the material received in the shop, and the specific shots — by cavity, machine and time — that used it. The chain is what turns a field complaint into a root cause: with it, a suspect lot is isolated in hours; without it, every part made that month is a question mark.
Runner system — The channel network that delivers melt from the machine nozzle to each cavity. Cold runner: solidifies between shots, produces runner waste. Hot runner: stays molten, eliminates runner waste but adds $15k–$40k to mold cost. See also related guide.
